Teachers at the Watters School Of Irish Dancing

Myra Watters, TCRG

Myra is the principal teacher and founder of the Watters School of Irish Dancing. She studied Irish dance in Dublin, Ireland for many years, with the Ann Murphy, ADCRG and with Rinceori Naomh Padraig. (Terry Gillan, ADCRG, Philip Owens, ADCRG, Elaine Kavanagh, ADCRG) She competed around the world eventually becoming a World medallist solo dancer and a World champion team dancer.

Myra performed with many professional Irish dance shows including Danceforce, Waves starring Liam Harney, Clasac and Tempest Rhythm. She danced at the opening ceremony for the Special Olympics in Dublin, at the European Union headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, at the L'Orient Celtic Festival in France, and for the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese. She was also a choreographer for Dancing on Common Ground.

In 1999 Myra joined Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance. She spent 6 months at Epcot in Walt Disney World, Orlando, where on top of dancing she was also the lead singer and regular fiddle player. She then went on to tour the world with the show for several years and rose to the position of dance captain. She also danced in Feet of Flames, starring Michael Flatley and danced for audiences of more than 100,000 people.

She is featured on "Michael Flatley's Gold" and "Waves" video and was a regular on TV program "Mystic Knights of Tir na nOg" (Fox TV).


Cristi Cameron

Cristi has been studying Irish dance with the Watters school for the past 5 years and is a championship level dancer. In 2006 she took 8 th place at the Southern Region Oireachtas (Regionals) qualifying her to compete at World Championships, which she subsequently did in Glasgow, Scotland in 2007. She was also part of a winning dance drama team at Oireachtas that went on to take second place at the North American Championships in 2006.

Before her Irish dance career began, Cristi studied tap with Christine Powers for 9 years and was an assistant teacher with the Space Coast Rockettes. She was also an instructor with the Merritt Island High School Color Guard. She is currently a student at the University of Central Florida, pursuing a degree in Math Education. She is a graduate of the Lead scholars program. Cristi has been an assistant teacher at the Watters School for the past 2 years and plans to take her TCRG examination in the future.
